A solar collaborative is about bringing folks together to go solar with a group discount.

Solar Holler customers in the greater Eastern Panhandle got the ball rolling on this collaborative, bringing a group of friends and neighbors together. As more and more families and businesses switch to solar through the collaborative, the discount will grow. Go solar - and bring a friend!

Going Solar Through a Solar Collaborative

The solar collaborative model is about neighbors going solar together, creating an efficiency of scale that delivers even more savings. Solar Holler will group installations to reduce costs - and return those savings through the collaborative discount. Members gain an additional $500 discount by adding battery backup to their system.

Who can be a Solar Collaborative member?

All homes, businesses, and nonprofits in the greater Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. If you live in Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral or Morgan county you are eligible to join this collaborative!

What’s the timing – and key deadlines?

The Solar Collaborative launched on May 16 and will run through the summer. The last day for prospective collaborative members to be able to participate in the group discount will be July 31st, 2022. In addition all required documents will need to be processed before the deadline in order to fully qualify.

We’ll build a 3D model and crunch all the numbers to give you a comprehensive proposal.
Prospective collaborative members will see the current discount level reflected on their proposal, as per the graph above. The minimum discount is $500 for a Solar System and $1000 for a Solar System plus battery backup. collaborative members contract and install their systems, that discount will rise to a maximum of $2000 for a Solar System and $2500 for a solar plus battery system.
Other discounts or promotions can not be layered on top of the collaborative discount, unless at Solar Holler’s discretion.
Collaborative installations will be scheduled in groups to create the operational efficiencies that allow for this group discount. If a member needs to schedule their home installation after October 31, 2022, or their business installation after November 30, 2022, their collaborative discount may be revoked.
Solar Holler will hold back final project invoices until the collaborative signing period is complete, and the full discount level is understood. Collaborative members will be asked to sign updated contracts, at that point, to reflect the final discount and purchase price. Collaborative members will receive their final invoices in August – or after their installation is complete, if later – with the full and final discount level reflected.
