We’ve been hearing from some folks that are skeptical about our solar lease offer. Things like: It sounds too good to be true. What’s the catch? What’s in it for you guys?
We get it. It’s smart to ask questions and consider an offer from all different angles. And frankly, yeah, it’s a really great friggin deal so it’s fair to wonder if you’re missing something.
There’s no big secret to uncover here, but we want to help demystify the way it works – how it works for you, and how it works for us.
A short solar history lesson –
You may be aware that families used to be eligible for a tax credit to go solar. Well, in 2025 congress decided to axe the residential tax credit when they passed their one big bill. But, importantly, they left tax credits in place for commercial entities like businesses and nonprofits. We take our wins where we can get them.
This is where a solar lease comes in.
As the business that owns the system, we are able to take the commercial solar tax credits, and that’s what allows us to pass so much savings on to you. In other words, since families can no longer take a tax credit, and since commercial tax credits are still available, a solar lease gives regular folks a chance to benefit from the price cut that those tax credits deliver. And if you’d really rather own your solar, you can still purchase the system outright after five years – so a lease doesn’t take the ownership option off the table.
This is why the math makes sense for folks to lease their solar.
It allows you to lower your cost of energy from the jump without any upfront investment. Your lease rate stays the same for the next 25 years – that means no more utility rate hikes, hidden charges, surcharges or any other add-ons they like to throw on your bill. And, when you lease your solar, all system upkeep and maintenance is included as a part of your lease agreement. Hassle free solar power at a price that beats the cost of utility power.
Basically the opposite of your utility bill:
Instead of your bill increasing over your time, your savings does.
It’s not just savings in month one, (it’s that, to be sure), but the real impressive savings figure is the one that grows and compounds over time.
When you go solar with our lease, you’re making a couple of pretty safe bets:
- The cost of utility power is going to keep going up. (And, with the demand that data centers place on the electric grid, utility rates are rising faster than ever.)
- You’re gonna keep using electricity.
At the end of the day, it’s just math. We all pay for power. The only question is: What’s the better deal? When you can go solar for less than what you’re currently spending on utility power and lock in a lower rate for the next 25 years, the choice becomes really clear.
